The truth
They try to bring the truth to light, But it's a fragile thing that's hard to ignite, Once it's spoken, it begins to fade, Like a fleeting thought, a moment's shade. We speak the truth, or so we think, But often it's covered in gold and ink, Believing that we embody the truth, Blinded by our own sense of self-worth. But we are not the truth, not in the end, For it's a force all on its own, my friend, A flicker of light that burns so bright, Then vanishes into the endless night. Why do we fear the truth so much? Does it feel like we've lost our touch, Or does it make us feel too exposed, Leaving us feeling lost and opposed? But the truth is what sets us free, A force that shapes our destiny, It's what makes us human, after all, Helping us rise up from the fall. So let's speak the truth, however hard, For only then can we truly guard, Our integrity and our sense of self, Helping us rise above the fray, to find ourselves. And though the truth may disappear, It's impact lasts, year after year, For it's a force that inspires us all, To stand tall and embrace our call.
